Craigslist got me again.
I decided to replace my desk, and started searching Craigslist like always. I have had my desk for 11 years. I bought it at Wal-Mart as a kit, and it has been a really good desk. It has been moved to 7 different homes and stood strong through it all. But it looks like a kit desk. And it isn’t really my style. Plus it doesn’t have many drawers or storage space. So, I decided I needed a new desk.
The problem was that I didn’t want bulky, and didn’t want modern. I wanted mid century (surprise) and wood. So, I searched estate sales, and craigslist, and garage sales, and antique stores for just the right desk. I came close to finding it on Craigslist a month ago, but the desk was too expensive for my budget. Then, yesterday, I found this!
I almost crapped my pants in excitement! It was inexpensive (relatively), and just what I wanted. The desk even has a story, which I love! It is a Kroehler desk made special for TraveLodge in the 60s. How freaking cool is that!? The only flaw is that one drawer pull is missing. But I will find a replacement or replace them all! When the owner messaged the dimensions (60x19x30) I knew that I HAD to have the desk. I immediately responded that he could have all my monies if he would just hold the desk for me. And he did.
I picked up the desk and beamed the whole way home. Then I realized I didn’t have anyone to help me get it up the stairs. At least not IMMEDIATELY like I wanted. So I did it myself. Don’t ask questions.
And here it is. Perfect. Fits the wall perfect. Fits my crap perfect. Fits my style perfect. Fit my budget perfect.
Can I buy stock in Craigslist?
